The only negatives are the hull can be loud with waves slapping inside the tunnel. If you run them correctly and take your time they are not rough or wet. ![]() I wouldn't go over a 150 on the 21 and I wouldn't go over a 115 on the 19. In fact, trying to push one fast by strapping a huge motor on it is a mistake. They are not the fastest of the flashiest but they will get you there and back and do it with minimal horsepower. If you want to be able to fish places like Oyster Lake, Crab Lake, Lake Austin, Big Boggy, etc and also run across the bay it is a pretty good choice. The boat and motor are a pretty good match. My brother fished on it with us a number of times and about 6 or 8 years ago he bought a 19' with a 115 Yamaha. He ran a 112 SPL on it for years and now has a 115 ETEC on it. He put a new motor on it about 10 years ago and that sucker just goes and goes. One of my old fishing buddies bought a 21' FC back in '94 and is still running it today. No telling how many days I have fished in one and there probably isn't a whole lot of places in Matagorda I have not been in one. ![]() ![]() I have logged probably multiple thousand hours in a Flats Cat in Matagorda.
